2. Before You Begin — Prerequisites

Before running EarPurifier, verify the basic requirements for your chosen mode:

1. Operating System

  • 64-bit Windows: Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • Support for more platforms is planned.

2. Supported Media Formats

EarPurifier natively ingests and losslessly remuxes standard containers:

  • Video Files: .mp4, .mkv, .mov, .webm
  • Audio Files: .mp3, .flac, .wav, .m4a, .ogg
  • Multi-Track Containers: Videos containing multiple audio dubs or subtitle streams.

3. Cloud Mode Requirements

If you choose the recommended Cloud Engine:

  • Active Internet Connection: For uploading audio stems and downloading purified results.
  • Free Kaggle Account: A research platform provided by Google granting free cloud compute.
  • Phone Verification on Kaggle (For Fast GPU Access):
    • Verified accounts: Receive 30 hours of free weekly GPU quota, unlocking top-tier models (RoFormer and MDX23C) at maximum speed.
    • Unverified accounts: You can still use Cloud Mode! Simply select the Kim Vocal 2 model, which runs on Kaggle's free CPU instances without requiring a phone number.
  • Kaggle API Token: A standard access token generated with one click from your Kaggle account settings.

4. Local Mode Requirements

If you choose autonomous on-device processing:

  • Free Disk Space:
    • Space to store your chosen AI model weights.
  • Recommended Graphics Card:
    • Dedicated NVIDIA GPU (RTX 2060 or newer) for heavy models like RoFormer.
  • Non-GPU Computers:
    • Can run the lightweight Kim Vocal 2 model smoothly on standard computer processors without a graphics card.

5. Media Engine

EarPurifier automatically inspects system tools for media processing utilities and (if not found) offers you to set them up for you automatically. No manual configuration is necessary.
